Dr. Ajay Padaki is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He was trained at 2 of the nation's top-10, premier academic medical institutions. After completing a degree in chemical engineering, where he was recognized as the most outstanding undergraduate student, he matriculated into Columbia University's medical school, the oldest medical school in the US.
He graduated with numerous awards and honors, and was recognized as the student most likely to advance the field of orthopedic surgery. He remained at Columbia for an academic research fellowship before completing his residency at one of the nation's most storied surgical programs, serving as an executive chief resident in his final year. He completed his training at the University of California, San Francisco, under some of the nation's leading academic surgeons. He has served as an assistant team physician for Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants as well as for Columbia University, Fordham University, and the University of California.
Dr. Padaki was quickly recognized as one of New York's TopDoctors and Best-In-State in his practice in Queens and Long Island. He specializes in treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He has published over 40 high impact manuscripts and abstracts, ranging from assessing epidemiological injury and surgical trends in addition to advancing novel, minimally-invasive surgical techniques. Due to his expertise, he continues to provide expert live television interviews for national news programs including ABC, Fox and CBS.
Outside of the hospital, he is an avid tennis player, golfer, and skier. He enjoys international travel and has visited over 60 countries. He continues to reside in New York City, his home for over 10 years.
